I’ve been thinking about writing spaces lately. Not just Destination Inspiration–the nooks we seek out in the world around us–but the creative spaces we set up at home.

Emily, the full-time blogger behind Cupcakes and Cashmere, recently shared her newly redesigned home office space. Streamlined to include the only essentials, Emily acknowledged that certain cherished objects, like a vintage globe, didn’t belong on her desk. Here’s what she came up with.

It’s a pleasant space filled with beautiful things that Emily takes pleasure in, such as the bouquet of flowers and the classic no. 2 pencils.

What objects are absolutely necessary at your writing space? What objects are just taking up space?
